Over the years Manish Malhotra as a brand has become synonymous with Bollywood glamour and weddings. The designer has reinvented anarkalis, tasselled lehengas and saris over the years into irresistible pieces which always make an impact on the red carpet or a wedding sangeet or cocktail. A Manish Malhotra bride is someone who loves attention and is not coy about her glamour-lit lifestyle. She won’t stand in a corner of a room but own every room she walks into.
Malhotra’s recently concluded couture week 30s-inspired collection in Delhi saw a glitter fury of saturated, jewel like shades and tints of red, royal blue, mustard, olive, beige and ochre, which added to the vintage grandeur of the outfits. His signature silhouettes and embroidery resonated the splendour of Indian and European architecture.
The designer to the stars and the creme de le creme brides and grooms stunningly incorporated Chantilly lace, which is reminiscent of that time, and reflects the old-world charm of opulent India. The highlight of the evening were the metallic accented Christian Louboutin shoes for men. A Manish groom completes his sequinned sherwani and churidaars with racy Christian Louboutin shoes.
Make-up by artist Micky Contractor of M.A.C Cosmetics accentuated the regal looks with mid parted and braided hair and burgundy and plum lips.
